Deep Fried Powder Sugar Coated Hot Dogs

This was made  on chopped which me and my husband love to watch. One of the mystery ingredients was hot dogs and it was in the dessert challenge, yes! you think "what in the world!...". Well to our suprise of the contestants made something that sounded very tempting,  *Deep fried powder sugar coated hot dogs* and let me say they are DELICIOUS!. Simple to make and would make peoples head turn when you tell them what it is.

Ingrediants: Serves 4

-1 cup of sugar
-10 hot dog links
- Vegetable oil

Directions:

Powder sugar is placed in the blender until in the texture of powder, ( powder sugar can be bought as well ). Than if using deep fryer place it at 325 degrees or in a deep pan fill with 3 cups of veggie oil, cut the hot dogs at least 1 inch and than fry them until a nice dark brown. After hot dogs are done let them rest for 2-3 min until most of the remaining oil is off, afterwards place hot dogs in a large plastic (use one with a top) than the powder sugar. Close the the plastic and shake it for about 20-30 seconds and place on plate or individual bowls for your guest and yourself. Add a tooth pick for easier and less messy eating if preferred and than ENJOY!.

Mini pumpkin pie pots recipe

As a bit of a celebration for all the Harry potter movies coming out on dvd me, my husband and our best friend had a harry potter marathon with the movies, food and drinks!. Of course me and my hubby being well...us we made a food event out of it, we included butter beer of course and for dinner we made a British meal with the classic Shepard pie. As for dessert i wanted to make something creative but something relatable to harry potter so i had a creative idea from www.verybestbaking.com and changed the recipe to my own liking. I hope you enjoy it as i did.

 Mini pumpkin pie pots recipe

Ingredients

    CRUST
1 (1 1/4 cups) sleeve cinnamon graham crackers, finely crushed
    5 tablespoons butter, melted
    FILLING
3 boxes (3.4 oz.) of jello instant pumpkin spice pudding
1 (8 oz.) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided
2 tablespoons of cinnamon (to sprinkle on top)
1 Smucker's Sundae Syrup Butterscotch Flavored Syrup

Directions

FOR CRUST:
COMBINE cinnamon graham crackers and butter in small bowl. Spoon about 2 measuring tablespoons into each of ten half-pint canning jars, custard cups and/or ramekins. Pat crust down with back or side of measuring spoon.

FOR FILLING:
Follow instant pudding directions and fill in pots to top leaving an inch between the pudding and jar top.

TO ASSEMBLE:
Place some of the mixed cinnamon graham crackers on bottom than an inch of the butterscotch syrup. Than on top of that fill with the pumpkin spice pudding, after you fill most of the jar with the pumpkin spice pudding fill in about half an inch with the butterscotch syrup. Now to top it off get a tablespoon of whipped cream (thawed) and in each jar place a dollop of it and sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for that extra spice taste and decoration. Now just place the top on it to keep it fresh and chill immediately.

Coffee Lovers!

I love coffee as much as the next person, but at times you hear doctors saying it's bad for you than others say it's good for you and even saying you can't drink it to much or to little..."make up your minds already!". So instead of a recipe or a review on a restaurant i wanted to post this very educational but entertaining video about what gets us up in the morning....COFFEE!!!.

It's sure to make you laugh :)

Better Than Sex

Better than sex is a fabulous Dessert restaurant we have here in key west. It's desserts are pure delight, every bite leaves you feeling like you've passed away and gone to heaven and their drinks as well. When me and my husband went we both shared 2 desserts and had a drink each. Our drinks were a cocowine with vodka with a glass covered in white chocolate and a ale with a glass covered in home made caramel. As the drinks weren't good enough they than brought us the deserts which were a chocolate cake with chocolate covered cherries with white chocolate truffle mousse on top and a vanilla creme custard with cracked burnt sugar pieces and creme brulee. This place has been the best restaurant found in key west, not only to it's uniqueness with delicious deserts but also a place solely for adults to unwind and enjoy themselves.

If in key west visiting this is a place you don't want to miss.

Yami's Frozen Butter Beer

In Oct 2010 me and my husband celebrated our 4th year anniversary at Islands of Adventure for the new add to the theme park which was The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. There we encountered a very interesting drink called "Butter beer" which appears in the movies and is famous in the books as well, although the theme park is not letting there recipe out to the public i made my recipe as close to the drink at the park and now make it for friends and family. I hope you enjoy this recipe as i have.

Ingredients: serves 4

*For the Butterbeer*:

2 1/2 cans of cream soda (any brand is fine)
6 tablespoons butterscotch Syrup
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
A dash of nutmeg
3 Tablespoons of caramel syrup
1 Tablespoon of brown sugar
3 cups ice (less or more to your liking)

*For the foamy topping*:

3 1/2 cups of cool whip
2 tablespoons of butterscotch syrup
1 tablespoon of caramel syrup
1 teaspoon of brown sugar

Directions:

Combine cream soda, butterscotch, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and ice in blender. Blend until slushy. Pour into a glass or mug. In a small bowl, combine cool whip, butterscotch, caramel, brown sugar. Mix until all ingredients are mixed and their are no lumps in cool whip and the consistency is creamy. Top the butter beer with the foamy topping and serve immediately. Enjoy!.
